Short term housing is typically considered anything less than 6 months. Long term housing is typically more than 6 months and can last up to several years and is usually more supportive.

SAY: Emergency Short Term Shelter

SAY offers short-term emergency shelter for former foster youth and young adults ages 18-24 who may be homeless. Our programs offer a free, safe place to live, case management, job & educational support, counseling referrals, and mentoring.

SAY: Coffee House Teen Shelter

Ages Served: 12-17 - Area Served: Santa Rosa - Address: 1243 Ripley Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Crisis Hotline: (888) 729-0012 - Eligibility: Youth in crisis and family reunification services for runaway and homeless youth

The Dr. James E Coffee House Teen Shelter provides a respite for families in crisis and family reunification services for runaway and homeless youth and their families. We provide short-term shelter, food, counseling, and referrals for youth and their families. Services are available in English and Spanish.

CAP Sonoma: Pathways

Ages served: N/A - Area Served: Sonoma County - Address: 141 Stony Circle, Suite 210, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Phone: (707) 535-8765 Eligibility: Short term housing for women and children. The shelter can serve women with up to two children; however we can only serve boys up to age 5. The initial stay is for 30 days.The maximum stay at Sloan House is 180 days. The facility is clean and sober with random drug testing.

CAP’s Housing Pathways helps move clients from short-term housing to permanent housing. Focusing on stabilizing the resident’s physical, emotional and financial health.

CAP Sonoma: Disaster Relief Assistance Fund

Ages served: N/A - Area Served: Sonoma County - Address: 141 Stony Circle, Suite 210, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Phone: (707) 544-6911 Eligibility: Households who lost their housing and/or source of income due to the fire. Assistance must be used to reside in Sonoma County, for low-income families with children and households not eligible for FEMA.

Short term rental assistance per household. One time security deposit assistance (within set limits) per household. Assistance with replacing lost or damaged goods.

LONG TERM HOUSING


CSN-Sanctuary House

Ages served: 18-24 - Area Served: Cotati - Phone: (707) 575-0979 - Eligibility: Qualify as homeless, have a mental health diagnosis, and earn $1442/month or less upon entry. Clean and sober lving.

Sanctuary House is CSN’s home for transitional age youth. This warm and supportive 7-bed home is located in Cotati, and is for youth who struggle with trauma and/or addiction who are either homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. Sanctuary House offers transitional age youth a safe living environment with structured programming to support them as they gain and strengthen life skills for independence.

Hanna Boys Center

Ages served: 13-18 - Area Served: Sonoma - Address: 17000 Arnold Drive, Sonoma, CA 95476 - Phone: (707) 996-6767 - Eligibility: Hanna generally serves boys who may have a mood related diagnosis including bipolar disorder, ADHD/ADD and other learning disabilities, Oppositional defiant behaviors, etc.

This inventory of rental housing units by area was compiled by the Sonoma County Community Development Commission to assist Sonoma County renters in locating affordable units.

Multiple locations (Bodega Bay | Cloverdale| | Cotati | Forestville | Gualala | Guerneville | Healdsburg | Petaluma | Rohnert Park | Santa Rosa | Sebastopol | Sonoma | Windsor) of low-income housing.

TLC's Transitional Housing Project (THP+FC)

Ages served: 18-21 - Address: 821 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Phone: (707) 528-3020 - Eligibility: This housing option is for young adults opting into AB12 (Extended Foster Care)

Transitional Housing Placement-Plus-Foster Care Program (THP+FC) is designed specifically for youth aged 18-21 who have opted to remain in foster care as non-minor dependents. This housing option is for young adults who are ready to obtain more self-sufficiency and independence while still wanting support in reaching their goals.

TLC's Transitional Housing Project (THP Plus)

Ages served: 18-24 - Address: 821 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Phone: (707) 528-3020 - Eligibility: For youth that were in foster care when they turned 18, THP Plus offers 24 months of supportive housing to transition fully into independent housing.

The Transitional Housing Placement Plus (THP-Plus) program gives housing support and assistance in independent living skills to former foster youth, ages 18-24.

TLC's Transitional Housing Placement Project (THPP)

Ages served: 16-18 - Address: 821 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Phone: (707) 528-3020 - Eligibility: THPP is for current foster youth and are referred by their social worker.

The Transitional Housing Placement Program (THPP) helps youth, ages 16-18, to emancipate from foster care successfully by providing a safe environment to practice the life skills necessary to live independently.

 

TLC's Transitional Housing Program

Ages served: 18-24 Address: 821 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - Phone: (707) 528-3020 - Eligibility: This housing programs is for youth 18-24 experiencing homelessness or at immediate risk of homelessness.

THP offers housing and services to homeless youth that include comprehensive and supportive case management as well as financial resources. Attend drop-in hours for more information.
